Two Hemispheres
The Gabarron Foundation

The Gabarron Foundation is having an open call for emerging artists who are interested in displaying their artwork for a special exhibition. Eight New York based artists will be selected for this cross-continental exhibition titled “Two Hemispheres.” Their goal is to have two groups of artists (Spanish and American) engage in a cultural dialogue through the vehicle of the visual arts. We will select one to two art pieces from each artist to be displayed in all of our exhibitions, both here in New York and in Spain.

Intelligence Squared U.S. Debates is a nonprofit, nonpartisan debate series broadcast nationwide on NPR and PBS. They are currently planning their next debate series focused on 2012 election issues which will premiere live in New York City September 2012. They are currently seeking submissions of images to represent their debate topics. Digital graphic design, photography, fine art, composite images, pop culture references and mixed media will all be considered. Images must be able to be digitized and duplicated in print as high-resolution images.

Opportunities for Solo Exhibition
Vox Populi
(Philadelphia, PA)

Vox Populi offers artists living outside of the Philadelphia area the opportunity to extend and challenge their artistic development and exposure to new audiences. Proposals for solo exhibitions will be considered for one month long exhibitions. Vox is particularly interested in offering exhibitions to artists who work in experimental materials and/or employ alternative methodologies, whose work is less likely to be shown in a commercial setting. Guest artists will receive an honorarium of $500 but will be expected to arrange for their installation and deinstallation.

Hodder Fellowship
Lewis Center for the Arts, Princeton University

The Hodder Fellowship will be given to artists of exceptional promise to pursue independent projects at Princeton University during the 2013-2014 academic year. Hodder Fellows may be writers, composers, choreographers, visual artists, performance artists, or other kinds of artists or humanists who demonstrate great promise. Hodder Fellows spend an academic year at Princeton;no formal teaching is involved. A $68,000 stipend is provided for 2013-14 academic year. Fellowships cannot fund work leading to the Ph.D. U.S. citizenship is not required.

Leonardo Electronic Almanac

The proposed special issue seeks to explore the future of the moving image, simultaneously acknowledging and extending on recent artistic trends and technological developments. The Leonardo Electronic Almanac (LEA) is inviting proposals from computer scientists artists, designers, live visualists and critical theorists interested in real-time visuals for an issue co-edited by Lanfranco Aceti, LEA Editor in Chief, Steve Gibson, Reader in Interactive Media Design at Northumbria University, Newcastle and Stefan Müller Arisona, principal investigator at ETH Zurich‘s Future Cities Laboratory, Singapore.
