The 5th Ave Bay Ridge Storefront Art Walk is now accepting applications to its fourth annual event. Artists will work with at least one store to create work that has a clear visual and conceptual connection to its surroundings. Artists will be given a period of time between acceptance of their project and its installation to create new work.

Call for artists: Large Scale Installation or Sculpture

The Springfield Art Museum is inviting artists to submit artwork for the Museum’s entrance lobby. The Museum is seeking a large scale installation piece or sculpture which will be installed in the Museum’s lobby. Eligibility is open to professional, practicing artists who reside in the United States. Artworks must be made of durable materials suitable to a high traffic, indoor zone which receives minor temperature fluctuations and variable lighting.

Manifest is seeking submissions for consideration in its upcoming exhibition, “Kinectica.” Manifest will consider any work that can reasonably be understood to either: 1) incorporate literal movement as part of its form (moving parts, whether mechanical, automated, human-powered, etc.); or 2) depict or in some other way include movement as a subject or theme of otherwise non-moving and non-kinetic art.

The Center for Emerging Visual Artists

The Center for Emerging Visual Artists invites artists living within 100 miles of Philadelphia to submit images for review by their guest curator, Jen Mergel, Beal Family Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Of the applicants, ten to twenty-five artists will be asked to present a digital portfolio of approximately ten images. Two to four of those artists will be selected for an exhibition in CFEVA’s Felicity R. “Bebe” Benoliel Gallery this summer.

This year’s juror is James Rondeau, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, The Art Institute of Chicago. Finalists’ work will be on display at in the Ryan Family Atrium of Northwestern’s Lurie Center, two blocks from Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art.

Curatorial Residencies

221A is an artist-run centre located in Vancouver, Canada with a mandate to support the advancement of contemporary art that explores design as a subject. 221A is seeking proposals from curators for projects to commence in 2014. Implemented in 2010 the Curatorial Residencies program encourages a diversity of curatorial approaches to the organization’s mandate. Emerging and professional curators, curatorial collectives, which may include recent graduates and practicing artists, designers and architects, are encouraged to submit proposals to be developed over the course of one year. Projects may include exhibitions, performances, publications, talks or workshops. Proposals should discuss a viewpoint, theory or approach that the project hopes to foster in relation to the organization’s mandate. All projects are funded through the organization’s operating budget at $4,000. This budget may increase through the success of project-based grants—with average projects ranging up to $25,000.

Lower East Side Printshop is accepting applications for its Keyholder Residency program.  residencies for emerging artists. The Keyholder Residency includes free 24/7 access to a large shared studio with printmaking facilities, $1,000 stipend, storage space and basic supplies, exhibition opportunities, educational programming, and support services. Artists from all disciplines are eligible: printmaking skills are recommended but not required, and basic instruction in printmaking and some Master Printer assistance is available at no cost.
