2013 Emerging Curator Open Call

The New York Art Residency &  Studios (NARS) Foundation is pleased to announce its 2013 Emerging Curator Open Call. The Emerging Curator Program offers an opportunity for an individual to organize a conceptually cohesive group show at the NARS Foundation Gallery, and aims to create a platform for emerging curators and artists to exchange ideas. The curator is provided with exhibition space, administrative support, and a small stipend in order to present innovative ideas and artworks in a unique gallery surrounded by artist studios. No prior curatorial experience required.

Each year AAC selects artists from across the mid-Atlantic region for solo exhibitions in AAC’s seven separate gallery spaces—or outside on the grounds. Artists are encouraged to submit proposals for works in progress, new bodies of work, as well as site-specific installations in any and all media. Artist submission materials may spell out the proposals in depth or indicate past work that supports the new ideas.

Flux Projects is now accepting submissions for Flux Night 2013, Saturday, October 5th. This one-night public art celebration fills the streets and empty spaces of the Castleberry Hill Arts District in Atlanta with large and small-scale projections, performances, dance, music, light and sound installations, and other forms of multimedia works and public interactions. Any artist, artist team, or creative collaborative  may submit projects for consideration.

Residency on Farms in the Catskills: 2013 Broadcast

The residency program invites artists, inventors and farmers  from around the world to participate creatively within Catskill region’s working landscape. The Andes Sprouts Society residency program supports the inception, creation and presentation of original art projects encompassing new media and bio-art. The residency facilitates this cross disciplinary collaboration with a mobile residency program that travels to host farms in the Catskill allowing the residents to create projects that interact with different forms of agriculture (for examsple, produce, livestock, agroforestry) in different years and seasons. Sprouts residency studio will be situated on the Michael Kudish Natural History Preserve(MKNHP) adjoined by the Goldenheart Unidiversity Farm(GHU Farm).
