A.I.R. Gallery is accepting submissions from women artists for consideration in the upcoming iteration of its CURRENTS exhibition series. A.I.R.’s third presentation in the CURRENTS exhibition series will be curated by Mira Schor, entitled “A ‘Womanhouse’or a Roaming House? “A Room of One’s Own” Today,” and revisits the requisite territory for artistic production by women visual artists suggested by Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own and articulated at Womanhouse in Los Angeles in 1972. This theme can be interpreted in any way that takes into account the gendering of space, the ownership of domestic space, and ideas about the basis of creativity as either a private pursuit or a public one.

UrbanGlass is accepting applications for the Agnes Varis Visiting Artist Fellowship for Women. The fellowship will provide a woman artist the opportunity to develop a new body of work exploring ideas and techniques using the medium of glass. Varis Fellowships will be provided for one artist per year for five years, beginning in 2013. Fellowships are eight weeks in length, and include access to all areas UrbanGlass’ 17,000-square-foot glass working studio. No glass experience is needed to apply.
