Call for Art: Cell Mates
Walsh Gallery at Seton Hall University
(South Orange, NJ)

The Walsh Gallery at Seton Hall University seeks submissions for “Cell Mates,” two distinct group shows that will be on view side by side in adjacent galleries. Curators Jeanne Brasile and Lisbeth Murray will divide the 2,000 sq. ft. gallery in half, creating two separate exhibitions of artwork inspired by cellular forms. The curators seek art that addresses a wide range of topics related to cellular forms to create a discursive exploration into microorganisms and concerns derived from their study.

Providence College invites emerging and established artists to submit exhibition proposals for the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 season. Artists working in all media, including architecture, design, and site-specific installation will be considered, as will curatorial proposals for group exhibitions. Accepted artists must be able to drop off, install and pick up work and be available to give a lecture to the Providence College community during the show.

The call is open to artists of all disciplines who have demonstrated an established dialogue with environmental issues and a commitment to seeking and plumbing new depths. Residencies will be five-weeks and include a stipend and supply budget between October 2013 and April 2014. New Orleans artists are eligible for residencies from October – December 2013. National and international artists are eligible for residencies from January – April 2014.

Arts Writers Grant Program

The Creative Capital | Warhol Foundation is now accepting applications for its Arts Writers Grant Program. the program  supports individual writers whose work addresses contemporary visual art through grants in the following categories: Article, Blog, Book, New and Alternative Media, and Short-Form Writing. Grants range from $3,000 to $50,000, depending on the needs and scope of the project.
